Fostering an identity
In collaboration withPalna Organization, we atThe Youth is the Change’ are currently working with 3 to 6 year old abandoned and orphaned children as well as the destitute children who are left by their parents in the care of the mentors for the day.
By undertaking activities such as art, craft and putting up skits and plays , we aim at developing the cognitive and linguistic skills of these children.
Moreover, we hope that through these activities children can slowly start developing new interests and inculcating better habits from their childhood. As brought out in many discussions, it is crucial these children are able to restore a sense of familiarity and normalcy while being able to instill a sense of individuality in everyday life.
As we have come to realize through our discussions with the mentors and caregivers,Palnahas come to become a haven of security and stability. Through our initiative, we hope to promote a more innovative and cheerful atmosphere where children are encouraged to take on new activities.
